Handling of Personal Information

IRIS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Company”) has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) regarding the handling of personal information in order to appropriately protect the personal information of all persons who provide personal information to Company (hereinafter referred to as the “Individual”).

Personal Information

Personal information” refers to “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of 2003, hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Law”), and refers to information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description, or that contains a personal identification code.

Purpose of Using Personal Information

We will collect and use your personal information to the extent necessary for the following purposes.

In case of using personal information beyond the scope of the above purposes, the Company shall obtain prior consent from the Individual in an appropriate manner.

Management and Protection of Personal Information

Personal information shall be strictly managed and shall not be disclosed or provided to any third party without the consent of Individual, except in the following cases. In consideration of security, Company shall take measures to prevent and correct risks such as unauthorized access to personal information, loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information.

  1. When it is necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the consent of Individual.
  2. When it is especially necessary to improve public health or to promote the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the consent of Individual.
  3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an individual/entity entrusted by either of the former two in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining Individual’s consent may interfere with the execution of such affairs.
  4. When permitted by other laws and regulations.

Outsourcing the Handling of Personal Data

We may outsource all or part of the handling of personal data within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use. In such cases, we will fully examine the eligibility of the consignee, stipulate confidentiality obligations in the contract, and supervise the consignee as necessary and appropriate.

Disclosure of Personal Information

When Individual requests disclosure of personal information held by Company, the Company shall disclose such information to the individual. However, Company may decide not to disclose all or part of the personal information in any of the following cases, and Company will notify the individual of its decision not to disclose the personal information

  1. If there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of Individual or a third party.
  2. If there is a risk of causing significant hindrance to the proper conduct of Company’s business.
  3. If there is a risk of violating any other laws or regulations.

Correction, etc. of Retained Personal Data

  1. Individuals may request Company to correct, add or delete (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) their personal information if the personal information in the Company’s possession is incorrect.
  2. Upon receipt of a request as described in the preceding paragraph, Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay, and if Company determines that there is a reason for the request as described in the preceding paragraph, Company shall implement Correction, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.
  3. If Company decides to implement or not to implement Correction, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, Company will notify the Individual without delay.

Suspension of Use of Personal Data

  1. Individuals may request Company to stop using, erase, or stop providing to third parties their personal data held by Company (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”).
  2. Upon receipt of a request as described in the preceding paragraph, Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay, and if Company determines that there is a reason for the request as described in the preceding paragraph, Company shall perform Suspension of Use, etc. of the relevant personal data. However, if Suspension of Use, etc. of personal information requires a large amount of money, or if it is difficult to perform Suspension of Use, etc. and alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the Individual can be taken, this alternative measure will be taken.
  3. In the event that Company decides to implement or not implement Suspension of Use, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, Company will notify Individual without delay.

External Transmission of User Information

Company uses cookies, codes, or programs (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Information Collection Modules, etc.”) that transmit information stored on users’ devices to an external server.

Information collected when Company website users access the Company website is linked to the platform provided by List Finder. Safety Management Measures

The Company shall prevent the loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of personal information entrusted to it from Individual by limiting access to personal information files, installing anti-virus software, and taking other security measures to prevent unauthorized access.

In the event of an incident such as leakage of Individual’s personal information, we will report the incident to the supervising authorities in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law and related guidelines, and take necessary actions such as measures to prevent recurrence of similar incidents in accordance with the instructions of the relevant supervising authorities.
